Rick and Kathy Harwick, Founders

The Harwick’s brought their Midwest values and ethics to Southwest Florida in 1986 and established a company that is among the industry’s elite. Rick and Kathy relocated from Michigan, lured by the same extraordinary lifestyle that captivates clients who choose Harwick Homes. Today, they are among the most respected members of the construction industry. Longevity, stability and financial strength distinguish the company; a commitment to excellence in both their work and the community distinguishes them. Rick and Kathy have always shared a passion to protect and preserve for future families the same quality of life everyone enjoys today. After 25 years Rick and Kathy are spending their time enjoying what all of their hard work has brought to them splitting their time between their home in Naples and their home in Michigan.

Mark Smith, President

Quality, personal approach to every client request or preference, and ensuring a steady stream of communications, Mark brought that nearly impossible combination of skills to Harwick Homes in 1993. From their first handshakes, clients recognize his singular abilities that have been honed by more than two decades in the industry – a penchant for perfection and an understanding of our clients’ highly individual lifestyles. As a certified general contractor, he knows how to meet and exceed those expectations. Continuing on in the Harwick way, Mark is committed to continuing the legacy of Harwick Homes into the future.

Preston Brown, Superintendent

Visitors to the site of a home under construction are likely to meet Preston, whose industry experience reaches to 1987. In addition to being a certified general contractor, he holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida. He joined the team in 1998, and clients repeatedly comment about his ability to listen to, understand and meet requests and preferences.

Jim Nelson, Superintendent

Jim’s enthusiasm and outgoing nature is on par with his outstanding industry experience that began during his college years in 1976 and includes certification as a general contractor. Site visits are simply a way of business for Harwick Homes, and Jim is often part of the tour team to keep clients current in the construction process. He encourages questions and welcomes every opportunity to accommodate special requests.

Phil Washell, Superintendent

Phil a certified contractor, is definitely an asset to our company. He is both a good listener and communicator, and he is able to handle the responsibility well.

Mark Wilkinson, Superintendent

Mark has been involved in the construction industry in and around Naples since moving here in 1985. He has a solid understanding of what our clients expect and deserve from Harwick Homes. Our clients find him easy to communicate with and his level of follow through on questions and concerns lays the foundation for our smoothly-run projects. Outside of his commitment to Harwick Homes, Mark has volunteered and worked for over 25 years in youth soccer programs throughout Southwest Florida. Mark recently announced his retirement as the head coach of Barron Colliers High School Boys varsity Team after 16 seasons.

Kathy Katasak, Project Manager

A house becomes a haven when it captures the lifestyle of the owner. Since 1999, Kathy has helped make that happen by working with clients as they make decisions from interior colors to cabinetry. It’s her pleasure to coordinate meetings between clients and vendors and make the building process a pleasurable one.

Alexandra Brennan, Project Manager

The process that makes a home happen is coordinated here – permitting, reviews, proposals and client selections are just a few of the ways “Alex” contributes to making the building experience progress smoothly. Clients hear from Alex often, with updates, which she’s been doing with Harwick Homes since 2000.

Shane Klepko, Project Manager

As our Special Projects Manager, Shane meets personally with each client before, during and after the project. With a keen sense of what it takes to make a remodel or home makeover enjoyable, Shane has become a valuable asset to Harwick Homes. He graduated with a degree in Construction Management from Brigham Young University. He has a great deal of organizational experience, high ethical standards and a willingness to please.

Jack Sterling

Jack came to Harwick Homes with over 20 years of local experience in construction industry accounting along with a solid accounting work history including residential construction, golf courses, restaurants, hotels and manufacturing. He not only maintains our financial records but is also on hand to answer any and all questions our clients may have regarding the billings of their projects. Clients differ in how involved they want to be in budget administration. Accountings of day-to-day billings or periodic reports, whichever the choice, Jack will work with them to ensure they understand where they are and where they are going on a project.
