Harwick Homes announced the completion of a master bath renovation project for private clients in Estuary at Grey Oaks. Harwick began building custom homes in the community nearly 20 years ago and maintains a dedicated presence in this prestigious Naples enclave, continuing to remodel residences in its various neighborhoods.
According to Harwick Homes Vice President Shane Klepko, the clients, who originally contracted Harwick to build the residence in 2006, were ready for an update to modernize the look and the finishes of the master bath.
This four-month project consisted of a complete removal of all finishes, including the flooring, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, and wall treatments. Renovations also included a new shower configuration, new ceiling design, and new decorative wall niches, as well as all new finishes.
“We are thrilled with the outcome of this project. This renovation completely modernized the master bath and gave loyal clients a new space to match their lifestyle,” said Klepko. “We were able to achieve the clients’ goals and add our detailed Harwick touch to enhance the designs.”
Demolition of the master bath involved removal and disposal of an arch leading into the bath, ceiling framing and soffits, existing tub, shower wall and bench, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, decorative lighting fixtures, doors and casing at water closets, flooring, and shower wall tile.
Construction included installation of a frameless clear tempered glass wall with brushed nickel clips; solid maple drawer boxes in a pigmented lacquer finish with dovetail construction; frameless full overlay doors; new mirror frames; Kallista, Dornbracht, Olivia Air plumbing fixtures; and custom medicine cabinets with mirror fronts, white laminate interiors and glass shelves.
Sherri DuPont and Michael Pineau of Collins & DuPont Design Group oversaw the interior design for this transitional remodeling project, utilizing materials including Solstice Silk by Phillip Jefferies wallcovering; Lakeland polished chrome, clear glass outside/frosted glass inside two-light sconces; a mixture of White Thassos and Calacatta stone on the floor, walls and niches with Waterjet mosaic floor inset; Taj Mahal 3cm leather slab, and hardware by Schaub & Co.
The bath was originally created approximately 12 years ago, and the client sought to bring it into the new millennium. Renovation efforts included opening the wall into the shower so that a small transom window in the shower shed light into the center of the space, providing much-needed
natural light which was previously absent. The built-in tub took up a lot of floor space, so the team removed it and added a free-standing tub for function without extra bulk. A tile inset was added under the transom window to focus on a rear wall and help visually expand the space. The original tile was small, busy and somewhat dark. The team lightened the stone and clad the walls and shower in 24” x 24” natural stone to expand the space. An inset tile rug was added to anchor the vanity area and visually separate it from the shower. The remaining walls now have pale blue-gray wallpaper to create a “zen” atmosphere for the long-time clients, who like to keep their home fresh and updated.
