Luxury custom homebuilder Harwick Homes has drawn worldwide attention thanks to the selection of one of its luxury homes as a finalist in HGTV’s Ultimate House Hunt Competition 2017, a prestigious competition that scouts and judges the best houses on the market from all over the world.
HGTV’s Ultimate House Hunt Competition 2017 features eight categories. The Harwick Homes-built Estuary estate is a finalist in the Outdoor Retreat category which is comprised seven other homes including a mansion in South Africa, a waterfront villa in St. Maarten and a mountaintop estate in Hawaii.
According to president Mark Smith, Harwick Homes built the private residence located in Estuary at Grey Oaks in Naples. “It is a timelessly understated elegant estate home finished in simple stones, woods and floor to ceiling glass picture windows that reveal sweeping lake vistas and the 11th hole of the Estuary’s championship golf course,” reports Smith. “The breathtaking outdoor landscaping and architecture stunned the judges,” he confides.
Designed by the internationally acclaimed architect Richard Wengle, the home offers a striking blend of modern features and traditional influences into an elegant, transitional-styled home. Upon entry through Coquina stone columns, floating wood ceiling details and gallery-like interiors define the 8,500 square feet of living space with five bedrooms plus study. There is also a spacious game room/media room with balcony that overlooks the water. Innovative automation is found in motorized screens and shades throughout and includes Crestron mobile home automation. Smith believes this is a home unlike any other, versatile and livable, complete with 4.5-car collectors garage with room for car lifts, and conveniently close to Old Naples.
“This gorgeous backyard getaway is exactly what the HGTV producers were looking for because it embraces and makes the outdoors truly great,” says Smith. “The private pool has the luxurious feeling and striking design of a pool at a grand resort, with its unusual layout, floating paver walkways and infinity hot tub,” he adds. The breathtaking outdoors of the mansion include the spectacular swimming pool with a revolutionary design of floating palm trees, stepping stones wandering among columns, and an expansive outdoor living area separated into four separate seating areas and a lush backyard.
